Kirsten brings a longtime interest in running to the store and wants to encourage people -- especially women -- to run, walk or be active as part of their lifestyle. Self-motivated, Kirsten started running 15 years ago with the goal of doing a marathon before turning 30. She successfully achieved her goal in the 1998 NYC Marathon.
Her philosophy that running is a lifelong pursuit -- that it's more about the journey than the destination -- goes hand-in-hand with her store's focus on training and injury prevention. Originally from Michigan, Kirsten loves the outdoors and winter sports, including snowboarding, X-C skiing, sledding and snowshoeing. |
Haig brings his passion and experience for cycling and fitness to Slope Sports. With over 20 years experience of competition at elite amateur level, Haig is currently a category 2 cyclist and captain of Deno's Wonder Wheel team, a premier New York City cycling team. He also races in the Masters (35+) category and is a strong sprinter.
When he's not at the store or at his job as a cameraman for WPIX, you can find Haig doing laps in Prospect Park with his teammates, with his mood determined by that day's resting heart rate. Though cycling is his favorite pursuit, Haig ran cross-country in college and occasionally runs in the off-season. Haig also enjoys snowboarding, cyclo-cross, mountain-biking and surfing.
